Grand Targhee Ski & Summer Resort is nestled in the Targhee National Forest at 8,000 feet in the high country of the Tetons and lies 42 miles west of Jackson, Wyo. Famous for its consistently superb snow conditions -- more than 500 inches a year of the lightest snow -- this family run, family-oriented resort has two mountains. Fred's Mountain is served by three chairlifts and a surface lift and offers 2,200 vertical feet and 1,500 skiable acres (300 crafted and 1,200 powder.) The mountain is predominantly intermediate to advanced-intermediate. Targhee's second mountain, Peaked Mountain, is reserved for snowcat powder skiing. You can ski 3,000 acres, 2,800 feet of vertical and unsurpassed scenery and snow conditions.
