Mt. Peter Ski Area

For over sixty years Mt. Peter Ski Area has quietly built a reputation as “The Friendly One.” Nestled along the Appalachian Trail in historic Warwick, New York, Mt. Peter is one of the three oldest ski areas in the state. This lovely resort has developed a tradition of fine skiing, family fun, and personal service that has kept customers returning season after season for over half a century. Mt. Peter was founded in the 1930s by a group of investors affiliated with R. H. Macy’s Department Store. These early investors recognized the potential of this quaint site and its strategic location in the densely populated metropolitan area. In the beginning there was only a rope tow and skiing was dependent on daylight and natural snow. However, skiing has changed over the years and Mt. Peter has responded to those changes. Mt. Peter is so many things to so many people but the common thread is the philosophy that Mt. Peter has developed “that real skiers know, the more you ski, the better you ski and no one makes it more affordable and convenient than the Mt. Peter Ski Area”. This phrase is not just a catchy marketing ploy but is a carefully designed ideology that best serves all our guests from beginner to expert.
