Bogus Basin |
Bogus Basin Mountain Resort is located just 16 miles from the state capitol, Boise, Idaho. The resort was opened to the public in 1942 and developed as an alternative to the long travel by Boise's numerous skiers. Originally started by the Bogus Basin Ski Club, the Bogus Basin Recreation Association was formed as a nonprofit entity. The BBRA still operates the ski area in the designated not-for-profit status -- one of the few in the United States. As one of the largest permit holders (2,600 acres) in the Northwest, Bogus Basin ranks behind only Sun Valley in size and skier visits in Idaho
